Found this neat little spot while walking along the beach on the south shore of Staten Island. It's nothing much; just a tree, and a bench where you can probably sit down and think about the meaning of life. It is however quite funny thinking about this little spot and Times Square being in the same city; this spot's probably as peaceful as it's going to get in NYC.
