Finale Preview - The Calling

You got some Alice today (and tits), you'll get Mrs Turner next, as requested by you guys in the comment section of the previous image post. Update on the Workstation situation: Mentioned on Discord that my CPU cooler died. The update is that I have replaced it, but by the end of it I even had to fiddle with memory timings. Don't even ask how it got there... Thankfully it's up and running again.

Well, it looks like a lot of people DIDN'T UNDERSTAND anything about the story - so sorry if I'm rude.

Firstly,

the game's key decision is when MC has to choose which girls' dreams he's going to look into. THEIR DREAMS REPRESENT THEIR INNER FEELINGS TOWARDS THE MAIN CHARACTER, AND, most of all, THEIR DEEPEST FEAR.

IF YOU DON'T SEE TRACY'S DREAM, YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND that you can trust her and you won't tell her everything that's on your mind. So, you will lose her in the end.

Secondly,

MC's nightmares involving the girls (Mom, Alice, Tracy, Aunt) represent HIS DESIRES: this game's called "DREAMS OF DESIRE" (just remember: MC made that creepy dream of Mom & Alice naked together, then threesome happened. Doesn't it ring a bell?)
i though i was the only one but at least someone else knows how to interpret and sort information aswell :p

How does the dream show that Tracy is trustworthy? At best, she becomes sympathetic because we see that she's in conflict with herself but the fact is that in the dream Dark Tracy is dominant. The reckless, wanton, devious side of her personality is in control while the other is upset because she's hiding something. And that's all that we know from the dream. There's literally nothing there that would suggest to me that I should trust her with the truth. In fact the only dream to do that would be the Mother's.

Except the threesome doesn't happen unless he's honest to Mom about his interactions with Alice. If he lies, they end up going down the anal route, which never happens in the nightmares. Furthermore, in the nightmares there's a scene between Tracy and Alice where the MC winds up

. And a further nightmare where Nora shows up and appears to speak directly to the MC.

Rather than representing his desires, the nightmares seem to be situations where the MC is no longer in control or able to influence events. Whether this is because he hasn't mastered the night walking ability or because an external force is trying to suppress him through the dream world is hard to say.

Dude, easy on the caps. I fully understood what the dev was trying to do here, I just think it could have been done better. People who didn't choose Tracy's dream on a first playthrough were just left wondering, "Wtf just happend? Why couldn't I stop that?"

Nope.
You forget some important things like the Apparitions that play a huge role there in the women's dreams and Nora that takes control of the MC's dreams. IMO Alice's dream with the hoodies is anything but representing her fears or desires. Tracy's dream shows that someone else is messing with her dreams and kicks the dream-MC's butt (probably it was Nora).

So... nope. I think you are partially right but you get some things wrong.

Am I the only one that found this ending fucking stupid? I hate how this happens because of a decision that was made 15 days earlier and nothing can be done after the fact. I hope this is just a temporary ending for this update only, or that LewdLab is just fucking with us.
I see your point, but I think ultimately it's to show that your decisions do have consequences in this game. After seeing both the good and bad ending, it's actually an interesting moment about trust. In the first episode, we're told that each NPC has a trust and a lust stat even though we don't get to see it. So basically, if she trusts the MC by that point, then you get the good ending. If she doesn't then you get the bad. I agree that it does come out of no where, but having been in some shit in my day, that's pretty much how all tragedy and disaster happens. I think it's a good gut check to the fact that this isn't simply a "magic gives you a harem" game that many of these types of games boil down to. Personally, I'm really enjoying the story and the mystery that's unfolding, and I have a feeling that trust is going to continue playing an important role with everyone until the very end. But that's just my opinion on what I've seen so far.

I kind of think the spoiler you mentioned is a bit of a clue as to what to expect moving forward.

Yeah I agree. I was planning on weighing in the discussion but you basically nailed what I would have mentioned. At this point of the game is where you really feel the "your choices have consequences" which the game has been hinting at. I didn't like Tracy in the start but even when I started liking her later, it was too late for me to do anything about it and that's sad and it kinda sucks but storytelling-wise, I found that pretty awesome. Also, in all technicality, it's not too difficult to get the good ending since the big choices that affects it is going into her dream in the 8th episode and you basically just had to be a chill dude and not do anything too harsh to her. Speeding through the story from there is pretty quick. Though, this is coming from the guy that's played this game from the start a few times now XD.

I feel the same way. I kind of like games that give you that gut check close to the end. In my case, I was a dick and a half to Tracy at every opportunity up until her turn around. I have the "If you're gonna be a bitch, I'll treat you like a bitch" mentality. I don't mind going back and playing it again either in order to get the good ending. Even though I did download the cheat just to get a quick satisfaction to my curiosity, I'll probably still play it from the beginning again once the new update comes out. The bummer is, according to the cheat, I was only one point away from the good ending. That's the fucked up thing; I should have just helped her with her luggage... But overall, I'm enjoying the storytelling and mystery of this game.

any news for the update of episode 12 ?
Not much. We can likely expect that the game to come out sometime early next month though. Sin mentioned that it would be the end of the month but if he had more ideas and added the 5th ending, it'd likely be pushed back sometime next month instead. Though this is mostly speculation.

Small decisions have big consequences. Man maybe choosing to give her the benefit of the doubt, or just in general not reacting in kind when treated poorly, rewards patience and understanding. Seems like you got the bad ending because you weren't willing to be sympathetic, and that reflects more on you than it does on the developer.

OK.What reason you have to prefer not to enter Tracy's dream? After all you can go to 2 dreams. So it was you who choose to skip that. And btw is this the first game you play ever?If you try some RPG or even action games you will see how your decision in the first 20 min have impact on the last hour of the game. Not to mention one of the rules of the gamer is save always.

Alright, I'm all caught up since I stopped at Episode 8. Game is still amazing. Tracy and Jenna are still the best, with Mom following them.

I really like how all the characters are so different and interesting that the amount of different answers to who your favorite characters can be vastly different person to person here. My personal favorites are Alice, Evil Tracy (yes I kinda count her as a different character at this point) and the Mom. I really appreciate a game that focuses on characterization especially since I feel like porn games get a real step up over other ones like it when you have good characters.

Yeah, let's not pretend it would be a horrible torture to replay the game with the skip function and make the correct choices.
It's not that you're really locked in your choices. If you skip, it will take you less than 5 mins to get the other end. That's what I do to see all scenes.
