Which USB port causes that? You could check if there's an update for the chipset drivers for your laptop / motherboard (depending on what you have) and see if that fixes it. Usually the manufacturer of either has them on a support page for your model and that might make them function more stable.

Yeah, as the name implies it's a driver for the north and south bridge on a motherboard (which are referred to as the chipset). Usually windows is pretty good at grabbing the correct one but in case either of those do anything special or have more helper chips the manufacturer's driver will be better than whatever windows can find on their own servers.

For me it also caused me USB problems on an older motherboard where some of them would freeze the entire system when disconnected and would refuse to see some other devices at all.

Do you use SAI2? It has a pretty good recover-work feature that has saved me literal days of work.

I do but I was doing the finishing touches and I like to use clip studio for that. I just don't know why with that one it didn't recover it well this time. Still have the file but naaaah just wont open correctly.

Try digging through \Documents\CELSYS\CLIPStudioPaintData if you haven't already
