You don't work in a creative field, do you? Sometimes shit happens and it doesn't matter how hard you work, you can't meet the deadline (self-imposed or imposed by others).

Last week I thought I'd finish something in a day. It took me 3. And on Friday I wasn't sure I could finish the 3 tasks I wanted to get done. I finished them by noon.

My point - not meeting the schedule isn't always because of laziness.
He missed deadline too many times. And being ahead of schedule isn't something unimaginable.

I'm sure Lewdlab doesn't need you to make up excuses on his behalf.

With how development has been going so far, do you really think he deserves the benefit of the doubt?

If you are regularly x-y% off target date then maybe learn from that experience? I don't do creative work but also have a lot of time variables that I do not control in my work and my overall estimates are better each time.

Well if the dev was like some other developers that just delayed the game after delay i simply wouldn't bother myself playing the game BUT about Lewdlab it's different because he made a great game called dream of desire(on of my all time favorites) and showed he is a great creator and because of that i respect him.Maybe he delay the release sometimes but at least he deliver a great game.

When i said that i did not play the last couple of updates, i meant the last couple of updates of the City of the broken Dreamers, the only game i have on my hard disk atm, (that is one amazing game).
I played all of the updates of Midnight Paradise. Dreams of Desire was probably a better game than Midnight Paradise, but i just find mom in MP mega hot, and the render quality has increased imo, even though the game had some problems i still play every update.

So update today or what??

Due to timezone differences the release may come a bit later or earlier as you would expect, depending on your location.
Generally the release times are between 19:00-20:00 UTC - unless specified otherwise.

its now 18:20 UTC

I'm not making up excuses; I'm simply saying taking a long time doesn't necessarily mean he's a lazy milker.

Also, I'm not a patron of his, so I don't feel the need to lambast him for his bad decisions and slowness on this project.

If you are regularly x-y% off target date then maybe learn from that experience? I don't do creative work but also have a lot of time variables that I do not control in my work and my overall estimates are better each time.
The problem is with certain things you can't be regularly x-y% off. I've seen things that I thought would be easy turn out to be a total pain in the ass, and take many weeks to fix instead of my estimated 1 week. I've also seen things take 2 weeks when I budgeted 6. Either I'm really shitty at estimating, or estimates are sometimes really hard in my field.

How is that possible btw? I mean how is that possible to deliver new content every 2 weeks?
I don't know about the particular developer but I would assume it's multiple people doing a pipelined approach. E.g. A writes the story, B does the Renders to that, C does the coding. However A starts on the next release immediately when finished with the current release while B does the rendering. And similarily B starts on the next renders when C starts working (assuming A has finished the next release). So basically once you've started things up everyone has 2 weeks for his work which likely is more than many monthly releases have where everything needs to be done in 4 weeks.

This of course assumes that none of the stages "stalls". But if you look at something that isn't too far off from what the engine is supposed to support it sounds doable. Once you start adding in lots of custom code like minigames in a Ren'py game it might become more difficult.

I believe I read quite often around here that someone is waiting for the coder to finish, etc.
