But they kinda are bad guys? Or did you skip/ignore/forget the scenes where they were shown to be complete assholes? Just look at red keeper...

@GTRaijin I didn't....but it seems like desperation at this point trying to make them look bad. Like Pink is bad...because she has a brother complex? Like red is bad because he is kind of a cocky douchebag?(Okay he did kill one of his boys for thinking they could jump rank so eh.). Blue is not only a decent dude but an aggressive dude who actually cares about his people. Green and Yellow haven't done anything.

But like the monsters are like," We want to kill everyone and take over the world." D legit copied their homework but said, "Well I Want ot take ovr the world but I'll keep the peeps I like."

But here is my point. It's trying to make them look so they can justify D's idiotic logic. How does D look good here when Blue is legit fatigue from fighting a bunch of copies and mentally not fully there due to his allies getting hurt protecting him. D looks like a fucking asshole if anything. This show hasn't done a good job doing the role reversal in my opinion.

@MasterHavik I don't think story wants perceive this as black and white. Both sides are bad & good.
And how Pink becomes bad for being Brocon caring for brother is supposed to be a good thing? Also anything this episode painted Blue in a good light

@WaterMage_658 Yeah it does make Blue look good, which is odd since he was the first one acting like a major ass. I don't want to see any of these Keepprs die besides maybe Red as the others are just complex characters if anything. Yes, I don't think they are trying to be black and white but the main hook to this story is, "What if the rangers weren't that good?" The story hasn't done the best job of selling you on that so far in my opinion. I like the show but I feel sometimes it's up its own ass with how they are trying to make D look good when he is kind of a derpy moron.

I still can't get pass the fact he is shocked his bosses are assholes when it's common in Power Rangers/Super Sentai to not give a fuck about their minions.

Also for Pink you could argue she is being selfish but family comes first and it is clear she doesn't want her brother to get hurt. If anything, if she had mroe screen time we can see how complex she is as a character that needs to balance caring about others and her family not just one or the other. I don't think she deserves to be killed. That's why I have kind of been with Hibki from the start on changing their ethics if anything.

@MasterHavik same only Red is ahole, although Green and Yellow are irrelevant so far but I think they all are manipulated by Red.
Also D is becoming more compromising and maybe he will get more human(ironically) as times go and adopt Hibikis approch at the end. He already went from killing everyone to atleast keeping his comrades safe.

That’s why I hate the “power rangers but the boys” comparison. At first you’re seeing things from D’s perspective of “oh rangers bad monsters good”, but as the series goes on and as D gets more into human society you start to slowly see its not all black and white. D’s dream for world domination isn’t what he truly wants, turns out not all the dragon keepers are evil psychopaths like Red, and turns out the boss monsters aren’t as great as they seemed. Almost every important character is morally gray in some areas, even looking at Pink and Blue they’ve both been participating in the Sunday Battles for years on end and torturing the Dusters, very few characters are like very clearly evil or very clearly good

@TheColdMayor I think framing Rangers as the bad guy but not committing to it was the first misstep of the series. If you sell me a car, but only give me a car with three wheels, you didn't sell me the whole thing. I don't think the show is bad mind you but do feel it can't decide with the narrative what it wants to do with D and the Keepers. Also, I feel with trying to break the tropes of Super Sentai/Power Rangers going the route of shitty bosses on the Monster side was very expected. I'm still kind of floored D is shocked at this and twisted in his mind that XX as used as a shield when she did that herself. I hope it gets address that the Fighters are wiling to die for these asssholes and he needs to change the mindset not just kill the assholes bosses. I'm so hard on this aspect as the big strong villains don't hide this aspect.

I can see why manga sells fell off a cliff if it has constant writing problems like this. It's not a homerun by a double down the line. It's not a touchdown but a field goal. It upsets me as it doesn't fully commit to the setup and concept. Moral grey in itself isn't a bad thing but either lead with that or commit to making the Rangers the bad guys. It would also help not to have your main character take advantage of one fatigue when they were helping him.

@MasterHavik I see what you mean, but also D wasn't really surprised XX was used as a shield. XX was surprised, because she always looked up to Peltrola, but D wasn't. Also for the rangers being evil, there are some that are just pure evil. Most of them aren't, but there are those pure evil characters. And if you think about the bosses, it would make sense for D to not think of the bosses as evil towards them initially. He was created by them to hold the same ideals, and initially he did, but after being on the surface he started to learn that not every human should be ruthlessly killed, and when he runs into Peltrola who still thinks that way, that's when their ideas conflict. But then again, just like the Rangers, the bosses may not essentially be all evil. Remember in episode 5 when D thought back to one specific boss, saying there was one who was nice? What about him? Plus there may be more bosses that haven't been shown. It's essentially the same as the Rangers, you can't judge the entire group by one alone. Just like how Red is a psychopath, but you can't say Blue and Pink are evil because of that. Peltrola's a psycho, but that doesn't mean the rest of the bosses are necessarily.

Also for D going to fight a wounded Blue, he's never tried being righteous. Literally last episode he said he was as greedy as they come. He doesn't want to live with the Keepers, but he also doesn't want to live with the bosses, so his solution is to just kill everyone who stands in his way. He's extremely weak and will take any opportunity he gets to gain the advantage, this has been shown time and time again. Of course he would take advantage of Blue being wounded, especially since Blue still sees him as an enemy. He's not meant to be a 100% good antagonist like Deku where obviously you hope he wins, like almost every other character he has aspects that make him good and aspects that make him bad. At the end of the day D is doing all this for himself. Of course he would take advantage of his biggest enemy being severely wounded, heck if Blue wasn't wounded D wouldn't stand a chance, he barely beat one Peltrola with 8 people on his side (and they didn't come out completely unscathed), unlike Blue who has been slaughtering Peltrola clones like cattle.
