Now of course, you don't have to like it which may be major impact it had on the anime industry. You could image that if you dislike/hate it, you will finished, dropped or don't want watched it? Answer: If you dislike/hate Your Name which is popular movie, I won't suggest that you watched it again. Bad animation =/= Bad anime Conclusion, I am sorry that it could not be pretty bad. It's not technically a plot hole I just think the character's reactions were unrealistic to preserve the plot. Like even though they couldn't call each other because of the time difference, it took a long time for the main characters to figure this out. They never checked for each other on facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. Plus they just wrote notes for each other hand written and on their phones, which is a really nonchalant way to deal with switching bodies. In real life if two people switched bodies, they would have tried to contact each other and probably figure it out on the first day |
| Welp I just finished it and I'm confused. Surely someone made a diagram for dummies or something? I mean does Taki "A" wake up back in his own reality where Mitsuha is long dead, probably not since that's bad. Okay he wakes up in the changed reality + amnesia and he ends up with Mitsuha "B" or something after 5 years. BUT Taki "B" doesn't go through exactly the movie since the town was saved by Mitsuha "A"? ...It must just be Taki "A" ends up with Mitsuha "A", that is the most simple explanation. Ugh But I'm still worried about rooftop Taki "B", he definitely exists and has a different fate than A?! Edit: Okay it's impossible for A + A since Mitsuha "A" exists with Taki "B", but then they wouldn't hook up in that reality?? So Taki B must not even exist otherwise... |

| Just watched with friend. Everything about this movie is awesome, the pacing is perfect, OST and animation is great. Even my friend that never watch anime before, is really like this movie. really looking forward to other Shinkia's movie. |
| Everything came together so nice. He even manned up at the end and asked her! Very nice anime and i wish i was able to see it at the Expo but oh well. The art and soundtrack was one of a kind. The end did make me dizzy and was getting difficult to follow but it all wrapped around at the end when I did a bit of thinking. |

| I loved this movie. And it was quite heart breaking. I don't have much more to say. I had some plot questions. Didn't care because this movie made me feel things. And had some really cool plot turns that were perfectly explained. I also felt it was a little rushed at the end. Especially how we saw nothing that happened between Mitsuha returning to her Dad. And them bumping into each other at the end. But this movie also gave us so much gratifying story in an epic feeling run time just shy of two hours. One of the more interesting things for me, besides the breath taking and sleek animation. Was all the queer friendly stuff in the film. I wouldn't argue its central premise showed solidarity or support to trans people or anything. But there were a lot of little gay stuff, like Taki's friend thinking he was cute as Mitsuha. And Mitsuha wanting to go on the date with the hot senpai. After all the pain and suffering we saw these kids go through. Part of me feels cheated we don't see anything resembling a traditional happy ending. But the film was pretty damn perfect and resonant as it was. I'm so glad after that twist of the time jump, this didn't turn into some typical my lost tragic love bullshit. A la Orange or Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso or something. I want to watch this movie again and again. And show it to everyone I know. And I don't often feel that way. |

| It started off a little bit slow for me, but it gradually became better and better - I absolutely loved it. Everything slowly came together pretty nicely. I honestly didn't expect a good ending, but I was so glad Taki turned around and asked. All in all, a great and wonderful movie. There's not much to say about the visuals and animation other than the fact that it was absolutely stunning, flawless and breath-taking. Can't expect anything less from Makoto Shinkai in that department, really. 10/10. Rewatch worthy when the BDs are out. |

God bless. 94% of votes are 8/10 and above; not saying that who rated this 7 is "wrong", maybe he has very high standards and/or romance isn't his cup of tea; nevertheless, who states this movie is BAD is obviously an hater/fanboy who is butthurt because his favourite animu isn't #1 and therefore their opinion isn't relevant. Don't get me wrong: i know every show has its flaws; i've read plenty of legit critics about kimi no na wa, and i mostly agree with them, but rating 3/10 and saying "lol plot holes, worthless clichè story" just shows how irrelevant one's opinion can be. | I started watching this with no expectations at all, actually, I was almost completely sure it was going to be shit. And not only it wasn't, but I ended up crying four or five times during the whole movie. So I loved it. I like this kind of stuff, if that makes me a pleb then so be it. | Respect for the amazing vision of the director Makoto Shinkai, he really knows how to make a scene, even if the story was not great story by my standards, Makoto succeeded in making a slice of life drama that i fully enjoyed. The animation is amazing and the art was extremely detailed that it kept the movie interesting throughout its running time. I didn't like the concept of two people changing roles. The OST was also forgettable. Definitely overrated but still worth watching. 7/10 |

| I just came back from seeing the English dub in the Theater. I could not have been more pleased. It was absolutely fantastic. I probably enjoyed it more than the sub I saw last year. The English lyrics of the music were written and performed by RADWIMPS and they did a marvelous job in conveying the mood for the scenes where the songs were used. Pacing was spot on. I have seen some posts from last year where a few people found the time jumps confusing but I thought they were perfectly clear then, and they certainly were today in this version. Excellent voice actor choices, especially for Mitzuha's little sister! The story, plot, pacing, characters all rolled along very smoothly. Chronology references were well placed. The amnesiac effects were a good device. Loved the connecting/linking devices. All in all not only an engaging story, but a skillfully crafted one. It reminds me of the kind of literature you don't see written much anymore: intelligent, engaging, and thought provoking while all the while being very entertaining. Bravo |
